Prescription Neurotoxins

Smooth lines without losing yourself

Every smile, frown, or squint leaves a small impression. Repeated thousands of times, those impressions settle in and turn into the fine lines you see at rest. Botox ($14/unit), Jeuveau ($13/unit), and Dysport ($13/unit) are prescription injectables that relax the muscle so the skin can rest. The result is softer lines and a more refreshed appearance, with expressions that still feel like yours.

Beyond cosmetic use, we also treat hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), TMJ, and masseter slimming. Treatment takes about 45 minutes with little to no downtime. All injections are performed by licensed Registered Nurses with advanced aesthetic training at our Apple Valley, MN location, serving the Twin Cities including Lakeville, Eagan, Burnsville, Rosemount and Farmington.

Treatment Areas

What we treat

Upper Face

FDA-approved use
Horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows. A small dose into the frontalis muscle smooths these lines while keeping your natural expression. Often combined with the glabellar area for the most balanced result.

FDA-approved use
The two vertical lines between your brows from frowning or concentrating. Treating the corrugator and procerus muscles softens these creases for a calmer, more rested appearance.

FDA-approved use
Fine lines that fan out from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile. Treatment relaxes the orbicularis oculi for a softer look without changing the warmth of your smile.

Off-label use
Diagonal wrinkles that appear on the upper sides of the nose when you scrunch. A few small units relax the nasalis muscle and smooth this delicate area.

Mid Face & Mouth

Off-label use
A subtle technique that relaxes the muscle along the upper lip so it gently rolls outward, creating a fuller-looking lip without filler. Lasts 6 to 8 weeks, shorter than most other areas. A good option for a soft enhancement or a first treatment.

Off-label use
When more gum shows above your top teeth than you would like as you smile. Carefully placed neurotoxin relaxes the muscles that lift the upper lip so your smile looks balanced and natural.

Off-label use
The cobblestone or pebble texture on the chin that becomes more pronounced with age or speech. Treatment into the mentalis muscle smooths this texture for a softer chin.

Off-label use
The Depressor Anguli Oris pulls the corners of the mouth downward, which can create a tired expression at rest. Treating this muscle lets the corners return to a neutral position for a more uplifted look.

Lower Face & Neck

Off-label use
Treatment along the jawline can sharpen and lift the lower face by relaxing muscles that pull downward. A subtle refinement rather than a substitute for surgical lifting.

Off-label use
The chewing muscles at the back of the jaw. When overdeveloped from clenching, grinding or genetics, they can give the face a wider, squared look. Treating the masseters slims the lower face and many clients report relief from jaw tension and grinding. Results build over several weeks and repeated treatment is usually needed to maintain them.

Off-label use
The vertical cords that run down the front of the neck and become more visible with age. Relaxing the platysma muscle softens the neck and refines the lower face, a technique many know by its classic name, the Nefertiti lift.

Medical Use

FDA-approved use: Botox
Botox has been FDA-approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis since 2004, for underarm sweating not adequately managed by antiperspirants. It is injected in a small grid across each underarm to block the nerve signals that activate sweat glands. Treating both underarms typically takes around 100 units. Results begin in 2 to 4 days, reach full effect at about 2 weeks, and typically last about 3 to 4 months. Priced per unit at our standard rate. Note that Dysport is not FDA-approved for hyperhidrosis, so Botox is the product we use here.

Safety & Suitability

What you should know before booking

Botox, Dysport and Jeuveau are prescription medications. They have a long safety record when injected by a trained provider, but they are not cosmetics and they are not right for everyone. Here is what your injector reviews with you, published so you can consider it in advance.

Who we cannot treat

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding. We do not treat during either.
  • Known allergy to any botulinum toxin product or its components, including human albumin. Dysport contains cow's milk protein and is not used in anyone with that allergy.
  • Neuromuscular disorders including myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome and ALS.
  • Infection or an active skin condition at the planned injection sites.
  • Certain medications. Aminoglycoside antibiotics and other drugs affecting neuromuscular transmission, and blood thinners, need provider review first. Never stop a prescribed anticoagulant without speaking to the prescriber.

Side effects to expect

  • Common and temporary: bruising, swelling, small bumps that settle within an hour, redness or tenderness at injection sites, and headache in the first days.
  • Less common: a drooping brow or eyelid, or an asymmetric result. This resolves as the product wears off, but that can take several weeks. Contact us. Sometimes it can be improved.
  • Bruising is unpredictable. Book at least two weeks before any event, and four weeks for a first treatment so there is room for a two-week review.

FDA boxed warning. All botulinum toxin products carry a boxed warning about distant spread of toxin effect. Rarely, effects can spread beyond the injection site hours to weeks after treatment, causing muscle weakness or difficulty swallowing or breathing, which can be life-threatening. Seek immediate medical attention for any difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, and contact us promptly about drooping or double vision.

Every Skin Tone

Botox and neurotoxin for every skin tone

Neurotoxins relax the muscles under the skin. They do not target skin pigment, so Botox, Jeuveau and Dysport are used on clients of every skin tone, from very fair to deeply pigmented. Our injectors also pay attention to the facial proportions and features that make you you, so your result looks natural on your face.

Deeper skin tones can sometimes develop dark marks after irritation (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). We use fine needles and gentle technique, and give you aftercare tips to limit bruising, so your skin stays clear while your lines soften.

Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau FAQ

Most clients see results last about 3 to 4 months. A lip flip wears off sooner, usually in 6 to 8 weeks. Regular treatments help keep lines soft.

Most people start to notice a difference in 3 to 5 days, with full results at about 14 days.

It depends on the area, your muscle strength and your goals. Your injector recommends a dose at your consultation, and you can also choose per-area pricing so you know the cost upfront.

Yes. Neurotoxins work on the muscle, not on skin pigment, so they are used on every skin tone. Your injector reviews your medical history and goals at your consultation.

Yes. Men come to us for forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, masseter slimming and underarm sweating. Dosing is adjusted for stronger muscles.

Botox is $14 per unit, and Dysport and Jeuveau are both $13 per unit at Aesthetic Beauty Lab. Treatments are also available priced per area for predictable pricing. One thing to know when comparing: Dysport units are not equivalent to Botox units, and more Dysport units are generally needed for the same effect, so a lower per-unit price does not mean a lower total. Compare the total quoted price, which we give you at consultation before anything is injected.

Yes, for excessive underarm sweating. Botox has been FDA-approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis since 2004, and that is the product we use for this indication. Dysport is not FDA-approved for hyperhidrosis, so we do not present it as an approved option for sweating. Pricing is per unit at our standard rates, and treating both underarms typically takes around 100 units of Botox. Results begin in 2 to 4 days, reach full effect at about 2 weeks, and typically last about 3 to 4 months.

We will not treat you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known allergy to any botulinum toxin product or its components including human albumin, have a neuromuscular disorder such as myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome or ALS, or have an infection or active skin condition at the injection sites. Dysport specifically contains cow's milk protein and is not used in anyone with that allergy. Tell your injector about all medications, particularly aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners, and about any previous reaction to a neurotoxin treatment.

Common and temporary effects include bruising, swelling, small bumps that settle within an hour, redness or tenderness at injection sites, and headache in the first days. Less commonly a brow or eyelid can droop, or the result can be asymmetric; this is temporary and resolves as the product wears off, though that can take several weeks. All botulinum toxin products carry an FDA boxed warning about distant spread of toxin effect: rarely, effects can spread beyond the injection site hours to weeks afterward and cause muscle weakness or difficulty swallowing or breathing. Seek immediate medical attention for any difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, and contact us promptly about drooping or double vision.

Pause anything that thins your blood for 24 to 48 hours beforehand where it is safe to do so, including NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen, aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil and St. John’s wort, plus alcohol. Do not stop a prescribed anticoagulant without speaking to the prescriber first. If you have a wedding, photo session or vacation coming up, book your first appointment at least four weeks out, which leaves room for a two-week review if anything needs fine-tuning.

Three rules for the first 24 hours. Keep your head upright: no lying flat, no yoga inversions, no bending head-down for at least 3 hours. Hands off the treated areas: no rubbing, massaging or facials. Skip the gym, sauna and hot yoga. Small pink dots or mild puffiness at the injection points are normal and usually settle within a few hours.

All three are botulinum toxin type A products that relax facial muscles to soften dynamic lines. Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) has the longest track record and the widest set of FDA approvals. Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA) was developed specifically for cosmetic use. Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) tends to diffuse a little more, which some injectors prefer for broader areas such as the forehead, and it is dosed differently, so its units are not interchangeable with Botox units. Your injector will recommend a fit at consultation.

For cosmetic use these products are FDA-approved for glabellar (frown) lines, lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet) and forehead lines, and Botox is separately approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Other uses on this page (bunny lines, lip flip, gummy smile, chin dimpling, DAO, jawline, masseter slimming for TMJ or facial slimming, and platysmal bands) are off-label. Off-label use by a qualified provider is legal and standard in aesthetic practice, and these are well-established techniques, but you should know which is which before you consent.

This page is for general information and is not medical advice. Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) and Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA) are prescription medications requiring evaluation by a licensed provider. For cosmetic use they are FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of glabellar (frown) lines, lateral canthal lines (crow's feet) and forehead lines; Botox is additionally FDA-approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Use in other facial areas, and use of Dysport or Jeuveau for hyperhidrosis, is off-label. Results vary and are temporary, typically lasting 3 to 4 months. Side effects may include bruising, swelling, headache, and temporary brow or eyelid drooping or asymmetry. All botulinum toxin products carry an FDA boxed warning regarding distant spread of toxin effect, which can rarely cause swallowing and breathing difficulties that may be life-threatening; seek immediate medical attention if these occur. Treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in people with certain neuromuscular disorders or allergies to the product or its components. Dysport contains cow's milk protein. Discuss all medications, supplements and medical history with your provider. Pricing is current as of August 2026 and subject to change.
