Tox Confetti: The Full-Face Refresh Everyone's Asking About

A modern, scattered-dose approach to Botox that delivers softer texture, less oil, and a lit-from-within finish without freezing expression.

If you've spent any time on aesthetic TikTok or Instagram lately, you've seen it. Confetti tox. Microtox. Skin Botox. Different names, same idea — a full-face neurotoxin treatment that softens texture, refines pores, and gives skin that smooth, soft-focus look without flattening expression. At Aesthetic Beauty Lab in Apple Valley, MN, it's one of our most-requested injectable services, and for good reason.

This article is the same explanation I give clients during consultations. What Tox Confetti actually is, who it's for, how it differs from traditional Botox, and what to expect day-of.

What Tox Confetti is

Traditional Botox treats specific muscles. We inject the glabella to soften the eleven lines, the forehead to relax forehead lines, the orbicularis oculi to ease crow's feet. The neurotoxin relaxes those muscles, and the overlying skin smooths as a result.

Tox Confetti works differently. Instead of larger doses placed deep into specific muscles, we use small, micro-doses scattered superficially across the entire face — forehead, cheeks, around the nose, jawline, and sometimes the neck. The doses are diluted so the effect is concentrated on the skin itself, not the deeper muscles of expression.

The result is something most clients describe as "blurred." Pores look smaller. Skin reflects light more evenly. Oil production drops. Fine surface lines soften. Expression stays completely intact.

Who it's actually for

Tox Confetti is one of those treatments that works for a wider range of people than traditional Botox. The most common candidates we see in Apple Valley:

  • Clients in their 20s and early 30s who don't yet have visible lines but want a preventative, glow-forward treatment
  • Anyone with oily or combination skin who wants to reduce shine and pore size without aggressive retinoids or in-office downtime
  • Clients with rosacea or persistent flushing — the superficial dosing helps calm reactivity
  • Long-time Botox clients who want to layer in skin-quality improvements on top of their usual treatment areas
  • Pre-event clients who want skin to look its most refined for a wedding, photoshoot, or milestone moment

The honest truth: if you're someone whose primary complaint is deep, etched lines from years of expression, traditional Botox is going to give you a stronger result. Tox Confetti is a skin-quality treatment, not a wrinkle treatment.

How it's different from regular Botox

The simplest way to think about it: traditional Botox is a muscle treatment with a skin benefit. Tox Confetti is a skin treatment that happens to use neurotoxin. Same product, completely different placement strategy and dilution.

Because the doses are smaller and stay superficial, you keep all your expression. You can still raise your brows, smile fully, and emote — nothing freezes, nothing drops. The trade-off is that you also won't get the same wrinkle-erasing power that comes from deeper, concentrated muscle relaxation.

Many of our regular Botox clients in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Lakeville, and Eagan now combine the two: traditional dosing in their typical areas (glabella, forehead, crow's feet) plus a Tox Confetti pass across the rest of the face for that overall soft-focus finish.

Every face is different. A consultation is the only way to know if this is the right approach for your goals.

What the appointment is like

The appointment itself takes about 30 minutes start to finish. After we cleanse and map the face, the actual injection portion takes 10 to 15 minutes. You'll feel small pinches — significantly less intense than traditional Botox because the needles stay superficial and the doses are tiny.

Bruising risk is low but not zero. Most clients leave with a few small red dots at injection sites that fade within an hour or two. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and lying flat for 4 hours afterward — standard post-tox protocol.

When you'll see results

This is where Tox Confetti differs from traditional Botox. With regular Botox, you typically see muscle relaxation kick in around day 3 to 5 and peak around day 14. With Tox Confetti, the skin-quality changes are slower and subtler. Most clients notice a gradual smoothing and brightening over 1 to 2 weeks, with the most refined results around week 3 to 4.

Results last about 3 months. We recommend a follow-up around the 3-month mark to maintain the effect.

The bottom line

If your goal is soft, refined, lit-from-within skin without losing expression — and especially if you're someone who wants to start aesthetic treatments in your 20s or early 30s — Tox Confetti is one of the most natural-looking treatments in our menu. It pairs beautifully with skincare, facials, and microneedling, and it's an easy add-on for clients already doing traditional Botox.

The best next step is a consultation. We'll look at your face, talk through your goals, and tell you honestly whether this is the right treatment for you — or whether something else in our menu would get you closer to what you want.
